What is CSM?
CSM is a not-for-profit 501c3 that was founded in 2017. Its reason for existence (we have a lot of organizations!) is that many schools are struggling and even going out of business. We didn't like that and thought it was unnecessary. So we began! CSM consultants are full-time consultants as well as full-time Christian school administrators.
What is the basis of your teaching?
We stand on three pillars. The first is that all of our advice and counsel is infused with Scripture. We are not theologians and still Scripture is our base authority for the attitudes and positions that we take. Second is that we are steeped in the research, the latest research. We must understand the context within which we operate our schools. Third is that we are experientially successful - if you do what we say, it works.
Instructor(s)
CSM Senior Consultant
Bill Simmer
Bill has been involved in Private/Christian education for almost thirty years on both the secondary and post-secondary levels. Since 2003, he has spent his professional life teaching workshops, consulting, and working with state, regional, national, and international educational associations to develop professional development experiences for school leaders. Bill has taught over 200 workshops in over 30 associations across North America. Known by many of his workshop participants as “Wild Bill” for his entertaining teaching style, his focus now is exclusively on Christian Schools.
“After 14 years of working with ISM and seeing the decline of the Christian School Movement in North America first hand, the Spirit began to make it clear to me that I was to invest the rest of the time God has given me on reversing this decline. I wanted to see Christian schools receive the quality of professional development that I knew they needed to thrive, but for which they were clearly not getting access.”
Bill holds a B.S. from Liberty University, a M.A. from International College and Graduate School, and a M.Div from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Executive Director, Senior Consultant and Executive Coach
Simon Jeynes
Simon is co-founder and Executive Director of CSM. He consults, provides school-hosted workshops, writes Entheos (the CSM weekly advice and counsel letter), and works to extend God’s kingdom by coaching and training other Christian school leaders to transform the Christian School Movement.
Simon is passionate about ensuring that every seat in every Christian school is full and that every student in those seats is having a joyful, transformative experience.
He has been an award winning teacher, an administrator, school founder, international consultant, author, and keynote speaker.
Simon earned his MA from the University of Oxford (School of Modern History), his BEd (Hons.) from the University of Lethbridge, and his MEd (Educational Leadership) from Concordia University. He is a believer in life-long learning and takes courses and workshops on a regular basis quite apart from an extensive reading regimen.
Mr. Jeynes is married with four children, two dogs, a bird, and many bird feeders. He is delighted that three of his children are now at university. He is proud to be a dual Canadian / American citizen.
